Inaccessible Signage

Incorrect signage that demands ID cards, registration, or limits access to certain organisations misrepresents the law and places an unfair burden on assistance dog users. Many disabled people are deterred from entering, challenged by staff, or forced to disclose personal medical information simply because a sign says they must.

Under the Equality Act 2010, assistance dogs do not need to be registered, certified, or affiliated with any organisation. Requiring “proof” or restricting access creates unlawful barriers and discrimination.

That’s why we’ve launched the Inaccessible Signage Project.

🔴 It’s open to ALL assistance dog users — not just our members.

🔴 You report the signage.

🔴 We contact the business or organisation on your behalf.

Disabled people should not have to fight for access every time they leave the house. Removing unlawful signage is a vital step toward real accessibility.
