''Where do I even start with Canine Allies…

I first came across them after a friend recommended them to me. I struggle massively with anxiety and depression, sometimes to the point where I wouldn’t leave the house for weeks at a time. I have my Labrador, Emmy, who brings me so much comfort, but I never thought she would make it as an assistance dog. When I approached Canine Allies, I honestly didn’t have much hope.

I worked with Emmy, Amelia and Jordan, and every one of them gave me confidence in both myself and Emmy. She went on to pass her Stage One, and because of that I’m now able to do things that once felt impossible, like going for walks, doing food shopping and simply getting out of the house.

During our journey, things took a really difficult turn and Emmy and I ended up homeless. I was told by the council that Emmy absolutely couldn’t come with me, and it honestly felt like my whole world was falling apart. When I told Canine Allies what was happening, Amelia and Jordan stepped in straight away. They worked incredibly hard, even speaking directly to the officer in charge and advocating for both me and Emmy. Because of their support, I was able to keep her with me.

We’re still on our journey, but I’m so grateful to have Canine Allies supporting us, advocating for us and treating us like family. In all honesty, they’re the reason Emmy is still with me today, and for that I will always be thankful.''
