''Hi, I’m Kim and this is bandit.
He is my 2 year old multipurpose assistance dog, bandit helps me with a wide variety of things such as;
- diabetic glucose alerts (high & low)
- seizure alerts
- heart rate spikes
- panic attacks
- guide work
- picking up dropped items
- loading and unloading the washing machine
and many more!
Life before bandit was a lot more difficult, I often found myself struggling to maintain stable glucose ranges and also struggled with the fear of a seizure episode happening without me being prepared which would often cause hospital visits due to concussion etc. I also struggled to socialise and make friends before bandit due to anxiety when being in the presence of unknown people or in a social environment.
Since having bandit I have gained a much bigger friendship circle which of course includes all of canine allies members/staff, and bandit has given me back independence and confidence on a day to day basis as I know when he’s with me I am always safe and he ensures I am safe, however if there is a problem he lets me know in advance so I can either prevent or prepare for an oncoming episode.
Being apart of canine allies has honestly been such a blast, they have been so supportive of myself and bandits journey and without their assistance we would certainly not be where we are today.''
