Volunteer Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy Volunteer Accountant to support our financial operations. This is a vital role that will ensure our finances are well-managed, transparent, and compliant, helping us to focus on what matters most—supporting individuals through the power of assistance dogs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records using appropriate accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or spreadsheets)
- Prepare and manage financial reports, including profit & loss statements and balance sheets
- Assist with budget planning and monitoring
- Support the preparation and submission of annual accounts and reports to Companies House and the CIC Regulator
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial policies and regulations
- Provide financial insight and support to the board and fundraising team

Liaise with external accountants or auditors as required
Must Have
- AAT qualified, part-qualified accountant, or relevant experience in bookkeeping or financial management
- Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
